The device consists of carrier, suspended brush unit (8) with motor-driven brush (9), clearing unit (19) in front of it, and clearing blade (20). The clearing blade is fastened to brush frame (7) or the carrier respectively, so that it can be adjusted horizontally in longitudinal direction of the brush, and relative to it. The clearing blade supports itself on the brush frame via a rod arrangement. The rods (21,22) are fastened horizontally and vertically pivoted to blade and frame. The right and left hand rods diverge in direction of travel. A guide unit (26) maintains the centre of the clearing blade aligned on the central axis of the clearer attachment, independent of the angled blade position.
