Disclosed is a new process for producing 6-methyl-2-methylamino-4-methoxy-1,2,5-triazine corresponding to formula (1). Cyanuric chloride is reacted with a Grignard reagent to obtain 6-methyl-2,4-dichlor-1,2,5-triazine, the substituents of which are changed into methoxy groups and eventually reacted with methylamine to obtain the end product. The end product is an important starting material for producing sulfonylurea herbicide. |
