Acceleration of hardening and raising final strength of closed moulds and cores of furan resins

Acceleration of hardening and raising the final strength of closed moulds and cores of furan resins is achieved in this new process. A water-accepting gas is passed under pressure into the mould or core box, where it permeates through the moulding material. Water arising from the reaction, together with any possibly pre-existing water is taken up and removed from the mould or core box, via the occlusion vent openings, or by a nozzle system. Instead of pressure application, a designated medium is tempered and is drawn through the core box by a reduced pressure.
