The method includes the step of determining a curve radius at each position of a path to be traversed from control data in movement instructions. The respective circle frequency at each position is determined as a size proportional to a quotient of a programmed path movement and the determined curve radius. A transfer function is used to determine an expected error of the mechanical transfer conduct, based on a given main resonance frequency and/or self-resonance frequency and a given damping factor for the respectively determined circle frequency. The determined error is compared with a maximum permissible error and the path movement is influenced so that the maximum permissible error is, just about, not overstepped.
