The tool has a bevel end (4) with a convex curvature in such a way that each tangent (T-T) adjacent to it in the direction of the cutting edge (2) makes an angle ( beta ) with an axis (X-X) running through the cutting edge in the direction of cut. The angle is less than 90 deg . With penetration of the material being cut, the ratio of the normal force component (Fn) to the transverse force component (Fs) over the length of the bevel end, starting from the cutting edge, decreases from a maximum of 100 to a minimum of 0.2.
