Process for seat support used by ship passengers

The process involves providing a passenger with a seat surface which is borne by the ship's structure. The seat surface (2) is connected to a drive which sets the seat surface in an oscillating motion with at least one vertical component. The oscillation has a frequency from 0.6 Hz to 4.0 Hz, preferably from 1.0 to 3.0 Hz. The oscillation amplitude is in the region of 0.01 to 0.05 g, preferably closer to the latter. The seat oscillation frequency may depend on the wave frequency, and/or the oscillation amplitude on the wave amplitude.
