The invention concerns a radiant heating element for a cooking plate having a heat conductor made out of metal foil and an insulating bottom (12). The invention discloses a heat conductor which is easy to mount and has good radiation properties. To this end, the flat geometrical pattern of the heat conductor is separated from the metal foil. The pattern forms heating joining elements (1) having their big surface facing the cooking plate and being held at least at one outer border of the ring (13) of the insulating bottom (12).
