An entry composed of a special call number (OPNU) and barring information (BAR) for temporarily barring calls addressed to the mobile subscriber is formed in at least one central subscriber data base (HLR) and transferred to a decentralised subscriber data base (VLR) to which the mobile radio subscriber is allocated in the first place for location registration purposes because of his actual location. As soon as an outgoing call is initiated for the first time by the mobile subscriber by means of a subscriber radio station (MS), a connection is established with a calling station (OP) on the basis of the special call number (OPNU) stored in the decentralised subscriber data base (VLR). The subscriber data, including a mobile subscriber call number (MSISDN) are entered through the calling station (OP) into the central subscriber data base (HLR) wherein the barring information (BAR) is re-initialised and the special call number (OPNU) is erased.
