The vibration system has a mechanically moved unbalanced mass. The unbalanced mass or masses (4) moves in a straight line and is driven by a slider crank transmission. The crank of the slider crank transmission can be driven by a crank loop, double crank or other device to create a periodically varying angular velocity. The centre point of the crank is offset about an eccentricity relative to the drive point. The crank of the slider crank transmission and its drive are each on a frame, and can be moved and adjusted relative to each other.
