A galvanic cell, especially a miniature galvanic cell, comprises a cupped container, a cover therefor, and a gasket, the cover having a depending flange, the gasket being compressed between the container and the flange of the cover such as to seal the cell and to electrically insulate the cover from the container, wherein the flange extends no further than half of the way into the container from the rim of the container and allows the gasket component to occupy less than 8 % of the internal volume of the cell, thereby allowing more room for active components. |
