METHOD FOR CONFIGURING AND CONTROLLING THE DISPLAY OF MULTIPLE APPLICATION WINDOWS

A method of controlling a computer window display of a display system having a display surface provides an integrated workspace. Multiple computer display applications are displayed in a coordinated, predetermined area of the display screen. An application display is created in response to a request inputted to the display system surface. The display is modified in accordance with a configuration file, the configuration file defining such display characteristics as the predetermined areas of the integrated workspace in which application windows are to be displayed. The modified display is outputted to the display screen in the predetermined arrangement consistent with the definition of display characteristics set forth in the configuration file.
