The invention relates to a method for applying a layer of protecting metal to a metal object and protective blasting of the metal object with granules, the outer layer of which is manufactured from the protecting metal, wherein the blasting force is chosen such that a layer of protecting metal coating the metal object to at least a substantial degree is left behind on the metal object, and to an apparatus for performing a method with at least a blasting device and supply means for at least supplying to the blasting device granules of which the outer layer is manufactured from the protecting metal. The apparatus preferably comprises magnetic transporting means for carrying the granules through the bath. |
