Warning indicator for excess conveyed load e.g. for freight vehicles

The load indicator has a bottom arm (2) pivot-mounted on the chassis (1) with one end monitoring the suspension movements with the other end. A linkage (4,5) attached to the arm drives a rotating disc (3) inside a housing. Slots in the disc provide a connection for light gates at the set loading limits. each light gate has a light emitting diode on one side of the disc and a photocell on the other side of the disc. The slots in the disc are of different lengths and indicate different loading limits. The light gates operate warning signals to indicate to the driver that loading limits have been reached. The disc is mounted on a support shaft and has a simple alignment using a spring finger (14) to set the basic position of the disc on the shaft.
