Manufacturing a decorative veneer involves using a veneer sheet (1) which is already equipped with a lining on the rear side. It involves embroidering the front side of the sheet (1) with a preset stitch pattern, using synthetic yarns, preferably polyester. A levelling coating (7) is applied on the rear side of the embroidered sheet (1).
