The transverse flux machine has a number of external soft iron stator elements (1a) and a number of inner soft iron stator elements (1b). It has at least one coil which can run internally or externally or both internally and externally. At least one of the coils has a number of parallel connected coil wires. The parallel connected coil wires (100,120) can be connected to additional inductances. Alternatively, the parallel connected coil wires can be fed through a differential flux converter.
