The wall cladding, of natural stone slabs (21) attached to angled hooks (12) on mounting rails (11) at the wall, has at least one longitudinal groove (27,28) cut into the rear surface of the slab (21). A section is cut out (22,23) at the outer surface at the top and the inner surface at the bottom of the slab (21), so that neighboring slabs (21) fit into each other.
