Remote identification, location and signaling response system

The system includes at least one remote transceiver (16) which transmits a communications request from a host system (12) to at least one remote device (14). A signalling response is received from the remote device and the remote transceiver provides a pixel mapped signal. A signal extracting processing complex (26) receives the pixel mapped signal and extracting time varying signals. The processing complex includes a processor unit which determines signal variations from a series of sequential frames and relays a data stream which correspond to the signal variations. Preferably, the communications request and the signalling response are in the infrared spectrum.
