Ignition device of the discharge type for a fuel-oil burner

Device which is able to allow the ignition of a wick to take place in any optimum position of the wick when it is fixed. There are a first and second active electrodes near the wick when the latter rises to the combustion position. An ignition switch is kept connected during the ascending movement of the wick for ignition, so that the disruptive discharge between the active electrodes is generated towards the rising wick. The wick rises to an upper position beyond the combustion position each time the ignition operation takes place, so that it is possible for ignition to take place in any optimum position of the wick. <IMAGE>
