The closure mechanism includes a drive with motorised operation. An adaptor (26) engaging in the drive device is detachably coupled by a locking device (35) to the entrainment device (27). The locking device, comprises a release element which in the closed position is accessible from inside the casement window to release the coupling between the adaptor and entrainment device. The locking device can be a screw spring engaging in a threaded bore (35) in the separating face between adaptor and entrainment device and opening towards the inside of the casement window.
