Fuel conduit

The system (1) has a feed and a return pipe between engine and fuel tank. It also has at least one section (5) with an enlarged heat-conducting surface (13). This is dimensioned dependant upon vehicle-specific values, so that fuel flowing back into the tank (11) is cooled to a permissible operational temperature. The enlarged surface may be formed by an additional pipe and-or an increase in profile of a pipe and-or by elements projecting from the pipe, and-or by heat conducting plates. The additional pipe is switched on or off dependant upon the temperature.
