摘要 The automatic transmission has a number of friction coupling elements each of which is operated by a servo element to engage the friction element and a second servo element to disengage the friction element. The second servo is linked to the engagement servo of the next gear ratio. The turbine speed of the torque converter is controlled during gear change to minimise the torque shock. During gear change, the relative pressures of the two, pairs of servos is adjusted to enhance the smooth gear change action. The control monitors the time required for the gear changes and alters the relative pressures accordingly.
