DUPLICATION PREVENTING MEDIUM AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duplication preventing medium which has an effect for preventing forgery by a color copying machine and a method for making the medium. SOLUTION: A latent pattern is formed by at least two kinds of light reflection parts which are formed on the surface of a duplication preventing medium and are different in reflectance and made evident by a duplicate by a color copying machine. In a method for making the latent pattern, the first thin metal film layer 13-1 and the second thin metal film layer 13-2 which are different in reflectance are transferred from respective supporting sheets 14 to a backing 11 through an adhesive layer by butt in the line according to a prescribed pattern. The first thin metal film layer 13-1 is transferred on the whole surface of the backing 11, and the second thin metal film layer 13-2 can be transferred on a prescribed part according to a prescribed pattern.
