<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the rate of thermal decomposition of waste plastics. SOLUTION: This equipment is provided with a steplike constitution in a thermal decomposition chamber B wherein horizontal plates J each having the edge bent upward at a prescribed angle are arranged at a prescribed distance apart vertically from one another in such a manner as to give a space (an open area) to allow the waste plastics on each plate to move onto another plate underneath, and heaters F for the thermal decomposition of waste plastics on the inner side of the thermal decomposition chamber B. The liquefied waste plastics will spread over the plates J in a steplike arrangement in the chamber B and stay in a very thinly spread layer so that the geometric vapor-liquid interface area will increase and the rate of decomposition in the thermal decomposition step can be thereby improved.</p> |
