COATING COMPOSITION FOR GLASS SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating compsn. which is suitable for glass surfaces (esp. glass bottles) and has excellent optical characteristics, a good adhesiveness, and increased abrasion resistance, elasticity, and resistances to water and alkalis (esp. to a hot alkali cleaning medium). SOLUTION: The binder of this compsn. comprises a polyol component (A) and a polyisocyanate component (B). Component A is water-soluble or water- dispersible and is obtd. by reacting a polyisocyanate component contg. 50-100wt.% 4,4'-diisocyanatodicyclohexylmethane with at least one polyether polyol component and an isocyanate-reactive component having at least one group capable of forming a salt. Component B is water-souble or water- dispersible, has blocked isocyanate groups, and is obtd. by reacting a polyisocyanate having 2-30wt.% isocyanurate groups, a monofunctional blocking agent, an anionic hydrophilic component, and a stabilizing component having one or two hydrazide groups.
