A sound absorber (1) has a bottom (3) and a structure (3) with hollow chambers (4) shaped as little boxes or cups with walls (5, 5', 6, 6'). The bottom (3) is joined, for example welded, to the structure (2) and the hollow chambers (4) are open on one side. In order to improve the acoustics and manufacture of the sound absorber, spot or linear welds (9, 9') are arranged between the chamber walls (6, 6', 5, 5') of the structure (3) and the bottom (3), in the area of the hollow chambers (4), and all hollow chambers (4) of the sound absorber (1) belong to a common, closed interior space enclosed between the structure and the bottom (3). The hollow chambers (4) have walls (5, 5', 6, 6') of substantially the same height partially welded to the bottom (3) and partially cantilevered on the bottom (3), leaving an air gap (a) between the front face (5'', 6'') of the chamber walls (5, 5', 6, 6') and the bottom (3).
|
