PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a polygonal hole at high speed in thermal cutting with machining conditions unchanged and also with a relative position considered for the next polygonal hole cutting. SOLUTION: In moving a machining head relatively against a work W and in making plural polygonal holes A, B on the work W by a thermal cutting beam B from the machining head 7, the machining time is reduced by setting a route so that the distance is minimized for the machining head to move from the arrangement of the plural polygonal holes A, B. In each polygon A, B, the machining head 7 changes its cutting direction, from the side that has been cut to the side that is to be cut next, by passing through the loop 33 extending from the ending point of the cut side. In this case, a laser beam is turned on at the starting point for cutting of the side and turned off at the ending point, with the loop 33 moved with the beam off. By repeating this process, polygonal holes A, B are cut.
|
