<p>A new method welds mitre-cut, plastic frame profiles which include drawn-in seals extending over their length is claimed. The seals are held in basal fastenings and have sealing lips. They are made of weldable plastic. The frames form windows or doors. The contact surfaces and adjacent frame profiles are heated to welding temperature using heat reflectors, which are then removed, before pressing the frame profiles together. In this original method, during welding of frame profiles (1) and seals (2) the inner contour of the seal formed by the lips and basal attachment, as well as the frame mitres and the region adjacent to the mitering plane are covered by a mould section having the correct finished contour. On completion of welding the mould is removed. Also claimed is the equipment to carry out the process.</p> |
