PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To engrave a ceramic article such as a hydrodynamic ceramic bearing which is excellent in abrasion resistance and is inexpensively and easily manufactured by covering a workpiece with a polyester mask. SOLUTION: A laser beam 168 is turned on a polyester sheet 170 from a laser energy source 162, and a prescribed spiral pattern is engraved according to a database profile, and a polyester mask 164 is formed. Afterwards, the polyester mask 164 is arranged so as to be brought into close contact with a ceramic article by using a spray adhesive. Alumina grit is injected into ceramics on which the mask is performed. A pattern is formed to preferentially remove the ceramics. |
