PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cold water-disintegrable resin compsn. which disintegrates at a suitable rate upon contact with water and is suitable as a packaging material by incorporating, into polydioxolane, other thermoplastic resin (particularly a biodegradable resin). SOLUTION: A polydioxolane resin (a homopolymer or a copolymer of dioxolane) is kneaded with other thermoplastic resin in a total amt. of 0.01 to 50 (pref. 0.5 to 30) pts.wt. based on the total amt. to prepare a cold water- disintegrable resin compsn. having a disintegration time of 6min to 100hr in cold water. Although the other thermoplastic resin is not particularly limited, it is pref. a hydrophobic resin compatible with polydioxolane, particularly pref. a biodegradable aliph. polyester. The cold water disintegration time is a time, taken for a film to begin to disintegrate, when a 100μm-thick film is prepd. using a 37-t pressing machine and a piece (2×2cm) of the film is introduced into 60g of water at 30 deg.C with stirring. This cold water-disintegrable resin is neither dissolved nor thickened in viscosity upon contact with water and hence can be used in applications where an agricultural chemical is packaged therein and is used together with the bag.
