PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable image by actuating a lateral-movement mechanism based on a detection signal from each sensor and controlling the lateral position of a sheet material in transfer so that it always stays the same. SOLUTION: A link 40 and a motor 41 compose the lateral-movement mechanism for a transfer belt 30 including a roller. Here, parts expressed by numerals 31 and 32 including the link 40 are integrally advanced and retracted laterally, by normally and reversely rotating an output shaft 42 while threads formed on the periphery of the output shaft 42 of the motor 41 are engaged with the threads of the bearing part 40a of the link 40. The control of it is exerted in such a manner that a control part 45 controls the direction of the rotation of the motor 41 and an amount of its rotation based on the detection signal from each of the sensors 20 and 21. That is, based on information about the lateral position of the sheet material S before it reaches a resist roller 17 and the lateral position of the transfer belt 30, the control part 45 controls so as to set an optimum position (lateral position and so on) required when the sheet material S passes a transfer position. |
