<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball manufacturing method which reduces the time required for an ionomer resin used in a cover layer to return to its original stable state after a change has occurred in its internal structure as the result of its heat history. SOLUTION: This golf ball manufacturing method comprises covering the surface of a ball main body with either an ionomer resin or a mixture of an ionomer resin and an elastomer to form a cover layer; immersing the cover layer in an organic solvent to cause the organic solvent to seep into the cover layer; and either applying paint containing an organic solvent to the cover layer to cause the organic solvent in the paint to seep into the cover layer or applying a thinner containing the organic solvent to the cover layer, prior to application of the paint to the cover layer, to cause the organic solvent in the thinner to seep into the cover layer.</p> |
