<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the inertial distance by operating a braking device when a moving objected to be moved by a linear motor is in a condition not to be moved. SOLUTION: A linear motor moves a Y-axis carriage 17 at high speed to an upper frame 15. Sliders 27,27 provided on the carriage 17 guides the carriage 17 in the Y-axis direction. The attraction force of the linear motor is balanced with the self-weight of the carriage 17, the carriage 17 is afloat, and the frictional resistance is reduced and the carriage is moved at high speed. A braking device 29 does not work during the normal operation. In a condition where the carriage 17 must not moved such as the failure of power supply, the braking device 29 is operated by the methods of electromagnetic lock, air lock, and hydraulic lock. The braking device 29 to be locked when the power source is disconnected is preferable. The carriage 17 can be stopped by reducing the inertial distance which is the braking distance, realizing safety.</p> |
