<p>The cap consists of a ring (7) with an inner ridge (10) to engage with a collar (3) on the bottle neck (1), and a top (8) which is connected to the ring by a hinge (15) and has a sealing skirt (13) fitting inside the bottle neck. The top and ring are joined by a tear-off security strip prior to first opening. The plastics bottle has the collar set at a specific distance from its upper rim (5) to ensure that a thrust surface (12) inside the cap presses against it. The inner skirt adjoins the thrust surface and extends into the neck of the bottle to a depth below the level of the undersurface of the collar, and the hinge is offset from the thrust surface by at least the same amount. <IMAGE></p> |
