PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus by which, when an optimum route by way of a road in a neighboring country exists, the route is searched and displayed and by which priority is given appropriately to a domestic road or the optimum route inclusive of the road in the neighboring country is searched and displayed. SOLUTION: In addition to map data inside a driver's own country, map data on a main road in a neighboring country within a prescribed range BZN from a border BDR is stored in a map-data storage means. When a route search is instructed, a guidance route up to a destination inclusive of a road in the neighboring country is searched. In addition, whether the guidance route up to the destination by a road only inide the driver's own country is to be searched (priority is given to the road inside the driver's own country) or whether the guidance route up to the destination inclusive of the road in the neighboring country is to be searched is set. When the route search is instructed, the guidance route up to the destination is searched according to whether 'the priority is given to the road inside the driver's own country' is set or not. |
