<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize deterioration even in the case of repetitive companding by using a moving image compressor to separate a motion vector multiplexed for a blanking period of a moving image signal and using the motion vector so as to compress the moving image. SOLUTION: Data quantized by a quantization device 4 are fed also to an inverse quantization device 5, where the data are inversely quantized and the result is given to an inverse orthogonal transformation device 6, in which the data are subject to inverse orthogonal transformation. Thus, the same differential image as that decoded from an outputted bit stream is obtained. An image signal obtained by adding the differential image signal and a prediction image signal produced a motion compensation device 10 at an adder 7 is stored in a frame memory 11 for motion compensation. An image signal with multiplexed motion vector is given to an image input terminal 1, a motion vector separator 13 separates the motion vector and the image signal from the image signal on which the motion vector is multiplexed and the motion vector is fed to the motion compensation device 10 and a multiplexer 8.</p> |
