METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR DETERMINING THE IMMUNE ACTIVITY OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES

The immune activity of some biologically active substancesis determined by treating of cultures from human peripheral bloodleucocytes (PBL) or suspension of BALB with mouse peritoneal hostcells (RPC) with a solution of the substance subject to testing,with the intention of inducing the production of cytokines whichare subsequently determined in accordance with standardindentification methods. The results can be improved by theaddition of nonsteroid antiphlogestic preparation to the testsolution, preferably indometacin. The method is also applicablefor the determination of the immune reation of people treated withcytokinoinducing substance.
