PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize the respective corners of a square part mounted on a printing circuit board by operating a position vector between the picture elements of a plurality of outlines for a reference picture element, comparing the number of the corners detected by comparing an operation value with a threshold with the total number of the corners of the square part stored so as to recognize the corners. SOLUTION: The total number of corners on the desired square part is stored. The first and second position vectors between the picture elements of the first and second outlines, which are detached by a prescribed number of picture elements against the arbitrary reference picture reference, are operated, based on the picture element of the outline of the square part, which is detected by taking the video of a subject containing the square part. The threshold for the corner detection of the square part is calculated, based on the reference value in a prescribed size, which is extracted from the operation value, and the presence or absence of the corner detection of the square part is judged by a result obtained by sequentially comparing the respective operation values with the threshold. The number of the corners of the square part which is detected is compared with the total number of the corners of the desired square part which is stored and the success of the corner recognition of the square part is decided. |
