PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the filling density and mechanical strength of an anode and provide a lithium secondary battery with excellent impact resistance and storage property by coating the surface of carbon fibers as constituting component of an anode with amphoteric surfactant. SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery comprises a cathode 3, an anode 5 containing carbon fibers which absorbs and desorbs lithium ion, a separator 4 to separate the cathode 3 and the anode 5, and a lithium ion conductive electrolytic solution. The surface of carbon fibers added to the anode 5 is coated with an amphoteric surfactant. The coating ratio of the amphoteric surfactant is preferably 0.01-0.2wt.% to the carbon fibers. Moreover, it is preferable that the amphoteric surfactant is applied to the carbon fibers by immersing the carbon fibers in an aqueous solution of the amphoteric surfactant in 0.1-1.0% concentration and then drying the fibers. |
