PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject sintered product substantially comprising Si3 N4 as a main component and rare earth element compound, SiC and a specific compound as remainders and excellent in creep-resistant characteristics, strength, corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance at high temperatures. SOLUTION: This silicon nitride-silicon carbide composite sintered product substantially comprises Si3 N4 as a main component and a rare earth element compound, SiC and a Cr compound as remainders, and preferably has a Cr component content of 0.1-10wt.% converted to Cr2 O3 in the sintered product. The sintered product can be produced by preparing a raw material comprising Si3 N4 powder, rare earth element oxide (e.g. Yb2 O3 , Er2 O3 , Y2 O3 , etc.) powder, SiC powder, and the powder of Cr metal or a Cr compound such as Cr2 O3 , Cr2 N, Cr3 C2 or CrSi2 , molding the raw material and subsequently sintering the molded product in the atmosphere of N2 preferably at 1700-2100 deg.C, more preferably 1900-2000 deg.C. |
