ACTIVE EMITTER DETECTING METHOD USING CORRELATION OF SCANNING SPEED OF TRACKING RECEIVER AND RADAR DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the accuracy of position determination of an active emitter by processing data obtained from a tracking receiver and a radar system and using the correlation of the scanning speed. SOLUTION: An active emitter with a scanning antenna is tracked simultaneously using a tracking receiver and a radar system (step 11), and the difference measured value of power or time of generated signals is processed to compute the position of the emitter using the tracking receiver (step 12). Strobing of a main lobe of the generated signal is further detected to compute the scanning speed of the emitter using the tracking receiver (step 13), and the scanning speed of the emitter is then computed using the radar system (step 14). The respective computed scanning speed are correlated to improve the accuracy of the computed position of the emitter (step 15).
