The present invention refers to a light structural panel applicable to construction field and a method for the manufacture thereof. Said panel is made from a filling material in expanded plastic strips, light weighted, reinforced by quasisinusoidal wavy wire structures, on a single plane, and reticular elements on a single plane. A predetermined number of filling strips of predetermined length and width are interwoven with a number of substantially erect, wavy wire structures. In a compressed condition of the sub-assembly, a reticular mesh is fixed on each side of the lateral portions of said plurality of wavy wire structures.
