PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent positioning failure by moving the position of an electron gun in the rotational direction, the horizontal and vertical direction, and making the horizontal directional reference axis and the in-line horizonal axis of a fluorescent screen coincide with each other by using a moving distance at light receiving level maximum time as a correction value. SOLUTION: A beam 4 from an emitting part 1 is received by a light receiving part 2 through first inlet hole 7 and outlet hole 8 of an electron gun. In this condition, a turning angleθis changed, and a light receiving level maximumθm is measured. Theθm is also fixed, and a support tool 3 is horizontally moved in the right-angled X direction, and a moving distance Xm of a light receiving level maximum is measured. Second inlet hole 9 and outlet hole 10 are also arranged in the direction rotated byθdeg. to a straight line connecting the first inlet hole 7 and outlet hole 8. Here, the support tool 3 is moved in the Yd direction, and a Y directional moving distance Ym of a light receiving level maximum is found. The horizontal directional reference axis and the in-line horizontal axis of a fluorescent screen are made to coincide with each other by using these 9m, Xm and Ym as a correction value, and positioning failure is prevented.
