The invention relates to a safety hypodermic syringe in which the needle-carrier comprises a rear, arrow tip-like retention orifice; a rubber obturator has an arrow tip-like retention stick which can be pressed into coupling relationship with the retention orifice of the needle-carrier to allow both said needle-carrier and the needle cannula to be pulled backwards inside the barrel by the plunger; the plunger can be disconnected from the rubber obturator and then inserted into the front end of the barrel so as to deform the needle cannula when said needle cannula is received inside the barrel.
