PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the reference signal generator in which a reference signal with excellent frequency short term stability and long term stability is obtained. SOLUTION: An output frequency of a voltage controlled crystal oscillator 2 generating reference oscillation signals 2a, 2b with a frequency in response to a voltage of a control signal and a frequency of a source oscillation signal la generated by an atom oscillator 1 are compared with a frequency comparator 3, which provides an output of a difference signal depending of a difference frequency and a filter 4 smoothes the difference signal and eliminates an undesired component to generate a comparison signal 4. A voltage storage section 6 receives a comparison signal 4 every time a timing signal 5a is received and outputs a voltage signal 6a by latching the comparison signal 4 till a succeeding timing signal 5a is received. An adder 8 adds a reference voltage and the voltage signal 6a to produce a control signal, which is fed to the voltage controlled crystal oscillator 2 so that the output frequency from the voltage controlled crystal oscillator 2 is calibrated by the source oscillation signal 1a for each prescribed time. |
