A composition for inhibiting sprout formation in tubers during storage comprises: CIPC (chlorpropham) and a substituted naphthalene. The substituted naphthalene is pref. DIPN (diisopropylnaphthalene) , DMN (dimethylnaphthalene) or methyl naphthalene. The wt. ratio of CIPC to substituted naphthalene is 1:1 to 1:4.
