An ink reservoir for use in an ink jet printer cartridge is disclosed. This ink reservoir maintains effective flow of the ink to the print head but containsonly minimal levels of nonvolatile residues. The ink reservoir utilizes a nonfelted reticulated foam having from about 65 to about 110 pores per inch (ppi), preferably from about 88 to about 98 ppi, with a compression ratio of from about 1.5 to about 6.5, preferably from about 2.0 to about 4.0.
