Furnace winder for Steckel rolling mill - has split thrust ring with axial gap on cooled shaft

The components of the winder are built on a cooled shaft and clamped together by a spring. Divided thrust rings are fitted between the springs and the winder shield, made from materials with different thermal conductivities. The thrust rings ensures axial mobility of the thrust ring system in case of breakdowns for elasticity of the winder clamping. The inner ring on the shaft is made from material with good thermal conductivity. This ring is divided into at least two separate stepped rings (13, 14) with axial and radial gaps. These separate rings are in contact on radial gaps. However, a slight axial separating gap is ensured between axial surfaces. The individual rings have an L-cross section. The contact faces (17, 18) on the shaft (11) and on the outside rings (12) cover the whole width of the divided inside ring.
