PURPOSE: A piston orifice of a shock absorber independently adjust the damping force on the compression and the expansion of the shock absorber. CONSTITUTION: A piston orifice(30) of a shock absorber(22) comprises following structures. A taper portion(26) having an upper diameter(d1) and a lower diameter(d2) different from the upper diameter(d1) formed on a piston(24) of the shock absorber(22). The taper portion(26) has protrusions(28) on the inner periphery surface thereof. An orifice member(30) is separatedly assembled to an assembling hole(32) of the piston(24) and has the taper portion(26) formed thereon. Therefore, a friction coefficient on rebounding is elevated and a damping force on bumping is lessen by forming an orifice(20) in a shape of a taper on the piston(24) of the shock absorber(22).
