PURPOSE: An automatic meter reading system for a meter by using a repeater is provided to collect and manage the meter reading data for each meter in the fixed space automatically by using the meter. CONSTITUTION: An automatic meter reading system for a meter by using a repeater includes a meter reading server(110), a modem group(120), the first or N modem(121, 122), a repeater group(130), the first or N repeater(131, 132) and meters(140, 141, 150, 151). The meter reading server(110) analyzes the meter reading data for each meter and manages them as message billing. The modem group(120) is composed of the first or N modem(121, 122) transmitting the meter reading data to the meter reading server(110). The repeater group(130) is composed of the first or N repeater(131, 132) transmitting the data read in meter by the radio communication system from meters(140, 141, 150, 151) to the meter reading server(110) through the appropriate modem of the modem group(120). The first or M meter(140, 141) consists in the district boundary of the first repeater(131) and the first of M meter(150, 151) consists in the district boundary of the N repeater(132).
