PURPOSE:To reduce the access time by dividing a luminous flux radiated from one light source into two, recording information by the 1st light spot, reproducing the information by the 2nd light spot and selecting the luminous quantities to be a specific relation. CONSTITUTION:Let the maximum luminous quantity of the 1st light spot at the recording be A, the minimum luminous quantity of the 1st light spot at the recording be B, and the luminous quantity of the 1st light spot at the reproduction be C, then the ratio of the luminous quantity of the 1st and 2nd spots is selected as n:1, the relation of (A/B)<=n<=(B/C) is established. A light radiated from a semiconductor laser 1 is divided into P polarized luminous flux Bp an an S polarized luminous flux Bs by a Wollaston prism 5, formed light spots SPOTp,SPOTs on an information recording face of a disk 9 by an objective lens 8. The part on which the information is recorded by the light spot SPOTp reaches the spot SPOTs soon, and the information recorded in the disk 9 is reproduced. Moreover, whether or not recording is finished is verified just after the recording to implement the process of erasure disk rotation recording verify. |
